Manchester United are in pole position to engage Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes and could complete the contract "within a week" after making a superior bid to other competitors, according to reports from Portugal.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is on the midfield reinforcement market after the departure of Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera this year.
