My mother is not dead. she is alive, hale and hearty

Former President Jerry John Rawlings dispelled rumors that his mother, Mrs. Victoria Agbotui, was dead.

Although the mother of the former president is old, the old lady is healthy and strong.

A statement from the former president's office, signed by the chief communications officer, Kobina Andoh Amoakwa, has therefore asked the general public to disregard this information.

"The office of former President Jerry John Rawlings took note of an unfortunate rumor circling Mrs. Victoria Agbotui, mother of the former president.

Ms. Agbotui is alive, healthy and warm,"The statement said.

Mrs Agbotui, from Dzelukope in the Volta region, is thought to be 100 in September.
