The 60-year-old would apparently want to return to Italy because he was tied to the vacant Juventus position.
Mbadimiliano Allegri left Juve at the end of the season, after five years, during which he won the Serie A every year.
He has also won four of the five titles of the Coppa Italia and two trophies of the Supercoppa Italiana.
But he announced last month that he would leave the Allianz stadium and should be replaced by Sarri.
Despite a strong first season in English football, in which Sarri led Chelsea to a third place in the Premier League and won the Europa League, he is expected to leave this summer.
Sarri won his first major trophy as a coach Wednesday, as his team beat Arsenal 4-1 to win the Europa League in Baku.
But the Italian boss was never sufficiently attracted to Blues fans and reportedly told club director Marina Granovskaia that he wanted to leave at a meeting on Friday.
Rumor has it that he will be replaced by Frank Lampard from Derby County, while Chelsea hopes to follow Manchester United by naming a former player as coach.
However, after the announcement of Sarri's willingness to leave, the Blues fans turned to Twitter to ask Chelsea to hire Allegri instead of the midfielder.
The 40-year-old has just finished his first season as a manager, guiding Derby to the championship final, where his team lost 2-1 to Aston Villa.
Despite his inexperience, he appears as one of the main targets of Roman Abramovich at Stamford Bridge.
But Chelsea fans think the 51-year-old should be the preferred option.
A fan wrote: "Max Allegri is a better option than Lampard."
"Are there really people who prefer to have Lampard than Allegri?" Asked another.
A tweeted: "Allegri is a good coach, he stayed too long at Juve. Miles better than Lampard. "
"We need Allegri, it's too early for Lampard," writes another.
