31 people arrested by Vanguard Advanced Operations Base
An operation conducted from Vanguard Advanced Operations Base (FOB) in the Eastern Region has resulted in the arrest of 31 alleged illegal juveniles.
The arrest took place in the area of Akyem Abomosu, in the western district of Atiwa.
Captain Andy Sowatey, Vanguard's public relations officer, handed over to the Ghana News Agency the 27 suspects, 27 locals and four foreign nationals from Equatorial Guinea, currently in the custody of police stations. Kwabeng, Osino and Anyinam Additional Investigations.

Other similar operations have resulted in the detention of a total of 94 "Changfans" used by illegal miners, the statement said.
