Gas prices climb to nearly $ 1.70 per liter and reach their highest level in six months – and the price will not soon be lower

The price of gas has peaked in six months in some parts of the country, and experts have warned of a steady rise in prices in the coming weeks.
Melbourne was one of the most affected cities, with unleaded gasoline prices reaching 167.9 cents per liter.
The figure represents a mbadive increase from the previous peak of 160.5 cents per liter on May 11 and is at a new high for the year, reported Sun Herald.
RACV Automotive Engineering Manager Michael Case said prices had dropped to 137.6 cents per liter in the last cycle – a welcome respite from motorists.

He added that motorists would certainly feel the pinch in their wallet after the 30 cent rise.
"An increase of 30 cents per liter would add between $ 15 and $ 20 to a tank full of gasoline for an average car or more for some four-wheel drive vehicles with larger or multiple tanks."
The chief economist of CommSec, Craig James, estimated that the average household now spent up to $ 240 a week in gasoline.
The average price of gasoline in the city hovers around 150 cents a liter. Mr Case said that there was still a lot to be done.
Mr. James warned that drivers could expect a similar average over the next extended Queens Birthday weekend.

"Prices should still average between 150 and 155 cents per liter this time next week – so do not expect such quick relief in such a short time."
The price is as low as 128.1 cents per liter at BP Kingsville on Williamstown Road.
Unleaded gasoline peaked at 159.9 in Sydney with an average price of 138.7 cents per liter.
A minimum of 121.1 cents per liter was recorded at Budget Petrol Petersham on New Canterbury Road in Lewisham, west central Sydney.
In Brisbane, unleaded gasoline prices peaked at 153.9 cents per liter with an average of 137.2 cents per liter.
One could find 133.9 cents a liter at United on Ipswich Road in Woolloongabba.
