Ezekiel Joseph Mayowa, student in HND 2 at the Lagos State Polytechnic, has committed suicide by drinking a sniper, an insecticide, after his girlfriend left him for a rich suitor.

Before committing the despicable act, the part-time student of Hospitality Management was posted on his Facebook page on Thursday night, suspending a bottle of sniper. According to the video clip, he was seen crying in his room on the campus of Ikorodu.

He lamented having lost his girlfriend when she went to pick up her National Youth Service Corp.

In the video clip, he said that his girlfriend had invoked an undisclosed incident that occurred three years ago to justify the breakup of the relationship and that several calls for recidivism asking him to forgive had fallen in the ear of a deaf person.

He also advised the men of the video clip to make sure they had money before going out with a girl since it was obvious that his girlfriend had left him. for a rich man.

He further revealed that he had been dating the unnamed lady for nine years, three months and nine days, but that his relationship had collapsed like a pack of cards.

He advised the federal government to abandon the NYSC program and apologized to his mother for taking such action. He also mentioned the names of some people, saying that he would miss them.

His lifeless body was found yesterday morning in his room.

LASPOTECH spokesman, Olarewaju Kuye, confirmed the incident but said he had no details on how that had happened.

The public relations officer of the Lagos State Police, DSP Elkana Bala, who also confirmed the incident, told the identity of the girlfriend, Olokodana Bolaji.

Bala, in a statement released yesterday, said: "On May 31, 2019, at around 5:30 am, the Shagamu Road Police Station, in Ikorodu, was informed that a Joseph Mayowa, 34, was a mid-year student. -time of the State Polytechnic School of Lagos, Ikorodu Campus, Department of Hotel Management Technology, drank a toxic chemical identified as a sniper, as a result of a misunderstanding between him and his girlfriend, Olokodana Bolaji, also a graduate of the same institution.

"He was rushed to hospital by his neighbors following an alarm from his girlfriend but eventually died.

"In the statement of his girlfriend, she told police investigators that she and the deceased were nine years old. That the deceased likes to beat her. While she was with the deceased in her room, they quarreled and, as usual, he resorted to physical violence. She rushed to the bathroom and on her return, she found him out of breath, an empty sniper bottle next to him. Homicide detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department in Yaba visited the scene of the Eyita region in Ikorodu. The corpse of the said Joseph Mayowa was deposited at the morgue of the general hospital for autopsy, while the girlfriend was invited to be questioned. An investigation is underway to determine whether there was actually a case of suicide or murder.
