Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia urges Ghanaians to be patient with Special Prosecutor (SP) Martin Amidu as he attacks the fight against corruption.

According to Dr. Bawumia, fighting corruption is like fighting demons and principalities.

In recent times, the PS has been severely criticized for its seemingly irreproachable appearance in the lawsuits against corrupt officials and the lack of adequate information on the work done so far.

Responding to criticism, Bawumia said he understood the impatience of some Ghanaians to ask the PS to sue corrupt officials.

The Veep added that the government was also working to make corruption unattractive on a sustainable basis.

He admitted that the task was not easy.

Dr. Bawumia revealed that no government institution would accept cash after June 2020, once the National Identification Authority has completed its registration process. .

According to him, the digital system would only accept electronic payments and help eliminate all illegitimate intermediaries, better known as "goro boys".
