Tamale: 19 years old arrested by police for kidnapping 3 children
A 19-year-old tricycle racer was arrested by police for kidnapping children.
Sadiq Abubakari was apprehended by the police after the police suspected a criminal act while he was driving the three children to their checkpoint.
According to Joy News' Martina Bugri, the children were heading to Lamashegu in the metropolis of Tamale, but the runner had driven them 30 km from Tamale to Gushegu district.
After arresting Abubakari, the police telephoned the parents of the children and lodged their complaint.
"I talked to the children, they were scared but they are now following consultations and are fine now," the reporter said.
The suspect is now on bail and is expected to reappear in court on June 29.
