Nyarko Kotoko2 Kotoko has defeated Nkoranza Warriors 2-1

Asante Kotoko has qualified for the last eight places of the Tier II special competition after she strived to defeat the Nkoranza Warriors 2-1 on Sunday in Kumasi.

The state-of-the-art crier of Augustine Sefa allowed the Porcupine warriors to move on to the next stage.

All of Kotoko's goals were recorded in stoppages.

Before the half-time whistle, veteran midfielder Daniel Nii Adjei was returning home after a good pbad.

Three minutes into the second half, Kotoko was penalized after a handball incident in the Nkoranza Warriors area.

But expert taker Amos Frimpong saw his push back, which allowed Warriors to take a break.

Striker Kwame Poku had a long pbad and dismissed Agyemang Badu's challenge of hitting a thunderbolt at the far post to tie the game.

In all fairness, Asante Kotoko had the advantage and created opportunities.

Kwame Bonsu's free kick in the middle of the field was neutralized by the stretched goalkeeper of the Warriors.

Obed Owusu, substitute, left unmarked inside the box, opened his head on a corner.

In the 90th minute, Sefa lobbed the ball over an opponent, amalgamated well, then shot a missile in the lower left corner of the ball.

For Nkoranza Warriors, this was another brave and perhaps enough demonstration to get shots on goal.
