Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has banned the club's approach to one of Europe's deadliest central strikers in the summer.
Barcelona will engage an attacker this summer to try to gradually replace Luis Suarez. The Catalans are considering several options and the recruitment of a new number is above their wish list considering the fact that the lack of scorers has had a negative effect on them this time. They already have on their radar Luka Jovic, Krzysztof Piatek and Rodrigo Moreno, but there is another addition to the long list.
More than All Barca
The superstar of Inter Milan, Mauro Icardi, is the new figure of Barcelona's wish list, according to Sportskeeda. Thanks to the Italian giants' nomination of Antonio Conte, the Argentinian striker is likely to become the club's second fiddle due to the former Chelsea manager's plans to recruit Manchester United's Romelu Lukaku this summer.
Real Madrid also initially had Mauro Icardi on the radar screen, but his rocking behavior and that of Wanda Nara frustrated them. They are now looking into the appointment of Luka Jovic as the central attacker. Lionel Messi does not consider too much his compatriot, like his rivals, and vetoed the approach of Barcelona for the striker.
The Barcelona captain does not have very good relations with Mauro Icardi and apparently, the leader of Inter Milan and Paulo Dybala of Juventus are irritated by the domination of Lionel Messi in the selection of the national team. As a result, even Icardi would not prefer to settle at Camp Nou because of his obviously merged relationship with Messi.
The Spanish champions will now approach Maxi Gomez, the star of Celta Vigo, while Christhian Stuani, of Girona, will also be on their radar. For Antoine Griezmann, the decision is good, but it was thought that the pillars of Barcelona do not want the French international to be at the club during the summer. Rodrigo is perhaps the most realistic option at the moment.
Which of the finalists in Barcelona would be the best to replace Luis Suarez?
