The Federal Republic of Nigeria has deported four Ghanaians for falsifying Nigerian identity, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The Ghanaians deported are Florence Donkur, Simon Gyan, Yeboah Collins and Alhaji Isa.

The statement urges Ghanaians living in Nigeria to ensure that they have the necessary documentation to legally reside in Nigeria.

The statement also urged Ghanaians in Nigeria to abide by the laws of Nigeria, in order to avoid any violation of host country laws.

In a statement released in March, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) said the four Ghanaians had been deported for violating various provisions of the immigration law and regulations.

"The order in the public interest concerns three men and one woman," said the NIS public relations unit.
