MANILA – Hollywood star Will Smith, who plays Genie in the remake of Aladdin, turned the foundations to Morissette by asking the Kapamilya singer to realize his dream.

Morissette met Smith, as well as the composer "Aladdin" Alan Menken, as part of the international promotion of the Disney movie.

The pillar "ASAP Natin & # 39; To" had previously been chosen to record the Filipino version of "A Whole New World", an iconic title of the animated clbadic, with fellow star Darren Espanto.

Espanto was also scheduled to meet Smith and Menken in Tokyo, but had previous commitments, according to Morissette.

"Lea spoke to you!" Menken told Morissette.

He was referring to Filipino Broadway star Lea Salonga, an official "Disney legend" who played the voice of Princess Jasmine in the original "Aladdin" and the main character of "Mulan".

"Leah is so dear!" Said Morissette.

Smith, too, seemed to have a prior knowledge of Morissette's talent, asking him to play live "a song from this movie that you're doing really well".

"I know I'm supposed to be the genius, but, you know, can genius have a wish? Because when you have Morissette's master and pretty voice here, I mean, I'd like to make the wish that listen to them both, "he said.

Morissette then dubbed "A Whole New World" with Menken, to the applause of Smith and the composer.

It turned out that the key was higher than expected with Menken at the piano. He joked, "I do not even know if it's in the right key for you."

"It was so high," says Morissette, setting off a laugh, "but we did it, it's good! We did it! Oh my God."

Menken, impressed, added: "Yet you have achieved excellent grades!"
