This year's theme is "Developing a National Character for Sustainable Good Governance".
Former President Jerry John Rawlings and other influential members of the June 4 uprising will address Tuesday to a grand durbar of leaders and people at the Nungua Traditional Authority Park, at the same time. occasion of the 40th anniversary of the 1979 uprising.
According to the durbar's anniversary planning committee, which starts at 8:30 am, it will begin with a parade of young executives, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony for the missing heroes, after which messages of solidarity will be issued by a host of dignitaries, including General NDC. The theme of this year's celebrations was "Developing a National Character for Sustainable Good Governance". Two commemorative events have already been held: a tree planting exercise on Saturday, May 25 and an anniversary lecture delivered by Professor John Bright Aheto at the University of Ghana Business School on Wednesday May 29th .
Celebrations are also observed across the country with lectures and durbars in various local places.
The organizing committee also invites all executives, supporters of the revolution and the general public to the event in Nungua on Tuesday.
