Ms. Gifty Dansoah Appiah, National Director of Compbadion International Ghana (CIG), said the worst enemy that could prevent children from achieving their future aspirations was poverty.

"Children can not reach their greatness when they are struggling with poverty," she said.

Ms. Appiah spoke to pastors, Chairs of the Church Partners Committee (CPC) and Child Development Workers (CDW) of the front-line partner churches of the IGC Ada Clusters. , Tongu and Adaklu / Agotime in Sogakope.

Compbadion International, the parent organization of the IGC, is a non-governmental Christian child sponsorship organization that is dedicated to the long-term development of children living in poverty around the world.

The IGC is currently working with seven regions in Ghana in partnership with approximately 34 churches and cares for more than 8,000 children until they reach the age of 22.

Appiah described poverty in Ghana as a "national scourge" that worsens children's vulnerability and called for a united front to fight it.

She advised pastors, CCP members and CDWs to conscientiously involve God's values ​​for the children in their care.

Appiah urged them to always respect the rights of children in their care and to protect them from any form of abuse.

The country director urged workers to combine physical, social, economic and spiritual care into a holistic approach to child development.

Mr. Isaac Donkor, member of the IGC Advisory Board, invited participants to consider themselves guardians of children and reminded them that their fundamental mandate was to work hard to transform the lives of children living in poverty and urged them to be faithful. , God fearing, trustworthy and reliable.
