Trump in the UK: first day in three minutes

President Trump has begun his three-day state visit to the United Kingdom. Just before touching the ground, the US president announced his arrival with a Twitter tirade against Sadiq Khan, calling him an "absolute loser," after revealing that he felt Khan had done a "terrible job" as a as mayor of London.

After landing at London Stansted Airport this morning, Trump was greeted on the runway by Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt, among other dignitaries. Later, Trump went to Buckingham Palace, where he was greeted by Prince Charles before being presented to the Queen. In the afternoon, the President attended a wreath laying ceremony at Westminster Abbey before attending the Queen's State Dinner in the evening.
