The imminent appointment of Chelsea manager Juventus, Maurizio Sarri, has received the approval of Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese wishing to play more offensive football.

Sarri should be announced as Mbadimiliano Allegri's successor in the coming days, after Chelsea agreed to let him go on Friday. Juve should pay about £ 5 million in compensation.

And according to the Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Ronaldo is enthusiastic about the prospect of the arrival of "Sarri-ball" in Turin and hopes he can benefit from the change of approach.

The 34-year-old has had a mixed first season in Serie A, making only 21 appearances in 31 caps – his worst return since last season at Manchester United, where he scored 18 goals.

Allegri is famous for his pragmatic football. Napoli, second, and Atalanta, third, outclbad Juve this season, but are also eliminated from the Champions League by Ajax.

But Ronaldo noted the offensive football played by Sarri in Naples and Chelsea, and the effect his style had on the attacking talisman on either side.

Gonzalo Higuain (36 goals in 35 games) and Dries Mertens (28 goals in 35 games) have both enjoyed the most prolific campaigns of their career under Sarri, while Eden Hazard's 21 goals this season are the most notable since his departure from Lille.

Ronaldo is happy to see a more offensive coach in the Juve canoe and is very curious to see what impact "Sarri-ball" can have on his own exploits.

The Italian coach has struggled to convince his fans at Chelsea despite his third place in the Premier League and his victory in the Europa League, but he is still very popular in his country.
