Support was given to a 13-year-old girl who was allegedly defiled by two men, including a chief, while she was undergoing treatment at Aniniwah Medical Center in Kumasi, Ashanti region.

The Bright Minds Foundation, an Accra-based NGO founded by a former legal adviser to President John Agyekum Kuffuor, is facilitating the girl's care following the JoyNews report on her condition and her mother's inability to seek intervention medical.

Relatives of the teenage girl reported that the girl was bleeding from her bads and had abdominal pain, despite the initial medical care that followed her ordeal.

The support of the Bright Minds Foundation, which aims to protect the social, economic and psychological well-being of children burdened by poverty, has been very helpful.

The weak and frail girl was admitted Saturday at the Aniniwah Medical Center in Emena, near Kumasi, for specialized care.

She had come from Freso, in the Bosome Freho district, with family members in Kumasi to start treatment at no cost to her family, courtesy of Bright Young Things Foundation.

She says she has the least trouble thinking about the teenager's suffering at the hands of two male adults.

Doctors say that she will stay in the facility until they are satisfied with the improvement of her condition.

His mother, Mary Adarkwa, praises the Bright Minds Foundation for supporting her daughter and her family.

"The doctors put it on a drip, they have been at the bedside since we arrived [and] I am encouraged by their insurance. Now, I can see an improvement. I am grateful to the organization [Bright Young Things] for the support. Their advice alone is sufficient motivation. I'm glad they allowed God to use them to contact my daughter, "she said in twi.

Adarkwa also congratulated the Multimedia group for making public the situation of her daughter.

The Bright Minds Foundation, an active participant in the lives of children in Greater Accra and East, promises to provide extra help to help the family when the girl gets better.

The Bright Minds Foundation is founded by Victoria Bright, a lawyer and politician.
