Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Minister of Food and Agriculture, said that Ghana will experience a 10% growth in agriculture over the next three years.

According to the minister, the previous government has seen a sharp decline in agricultural growth, which would have been 2.2%, but over the past two years, the government has recorded a mbadive increase of 8%.

With much effort under the leadership of Nana Addo President Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the agricultural sector is confident of aiming for double-digit growth.

"We are aiming for double-digit growth in agriculture, we intend to grow to 10%. The previous administration has reduced it to 2.2% and even less. We arrive in two years and we have reduced it to 8%. We hope that in the next two or three years, it will reach 10% and more, even at 10%, "he said.

Speaking at the launch of the Summit on Innovation and Agricultural Technologies, the minister said that the goal of Planting to feed and create jobs is to increase the agricultural productivity of Ghanaian farmers, which is at the heart of government policy.

The summit is carefully designed to provide Ghanaian agri-business interested in the opportunity to learn, interact and build business relationships with 18 of Israel's leading innovators in the agro-technology sector, who are embarking on the Ghanaian market.

The theme of this year's event, "Ghana's Agritech 2019 Summit with Israel (GHrow-IL)", focuses on three areas; Input technologies, Mordern agricultural practices, financing models in the agricultural sector and will provide opportunities for Israel and Ghana to build and build new links throughout the agricultural value chain, particularly with the government program Plant for food and employment.

The Ambbadador of Israel to Ghana, Shani Cooper, noted that Ghana has the ideal soil and climatic conditions for good agriculture. With the help of Israeli companies AgriTech, the country will progress and export quality products.

"Ghana has good soil, good conditions and good climate. In addition to doing good with agriculture, we see no reason for Ghana to be less advanced than other countries in the world, and you certainly think that Ghanaian farmers, with the help of Israeli companies and the know-how and the technologies that can grow and export their yields and crops around the world, "she said.
