Trump arrives in the UK in a wave of controversy

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, arrives today in Britain for a three-day state visit amidst protests and controversies in the country, sparking controversy that he caused by weighing in the debate on Brexit. Commemorations of D-Day and a State Banquet at Buckingham Palace are among the activities on the menu.

Air Force One lands at London Stansted Airport at 8:00 am GMT. British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt will meet President Trump.

In an interview with the tabloid The Sun, in anticipation of his visit, President Trump said that Boros Johnson "would do a very good job" at the head of the Conservative party.

Before leaving the United States, Trump said he could meet Brexit Chief Nigel Farage. In an interview with the Sunday Times, the US president called on Britain to send Mr Farage to head the Brexit negotiations.

He also said that the UK should pursue a Brexit without an agreement if the EU refuses to give Britain what it wants. Trump said the UK should give up its duty to refuse to pay his 39 billion pounds divorce bill and "walk away" from Brexit negotiations.
