South Korea's foreign exchange reserves declined in May.
The Bank of Korea said reserves rose to 402 billion US dollars last month, a drop of nearly two points a billion dollars from April.
The central bank attributed this drop to the strengthening of the greenback, which resulted in a decline in the value of other foreign currency badets held by South Korea.
By the end of April, South Korea had the world's ninth largest currency reserve, with China ranking first.
