From portable devices that use mild electrical stimulation to reduce cluster headache pain to 3D cardiac modeling that facilitates the rapid diagnosis of coronary artery disease, these are just some of the technological innovations that will be introduced into the field. Speaking today at the Reform Digital Health Conference, NHS England CEO Simon Stevens will reveal that a number of technological innovations need to be rolled out in the NHS.

In addition to the above-mentioned treatment and test, these will include: a new pre-eclampsia test for pregnant women, an advanced blood test that allows emergency physicians to rule out a heart attack within three hours – 75% faster than the rate current nine hours – and a hydrogel for people with prostate cancer to reduce some of the side effects of radiation therapy.

300,000 patients have already had access to the innovations introduced by the ITP program, which is part of the NHS long-term plan, and 400,000 more should benefit from the last raft.

"From improving care for pregnant women to using digital modeling to badess heart problems and new tests to prevent unnecessary hospitalizations due to suspected heart attacks, the NHS is taking steps to that patients have access to the best modern technologies, "said Simon Stevens.
