Lionel Messi revealed that his son claimed to be a Liverpool player after the defeat suffered by Barcelona in the Champions League at Anfield.

Barcelona seemed on track to reach the Champions League final, but suffered a 4-0 defeat to Jurgen Klopp's team in the return leg of their semi-final.

Liverpool has been crowned European champion for the sixth time in its history, while the Barcelona season has ended with further disappointment against Valencia in the final of the Copa del Rey.

Messi's two sons, Thiago and Mateo, are both interested in football, but Argentina revealed that Mateo was very fond of Liverpool after his victory over Barcelona.
