President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo paid tribute to Muslims in Ghana and around the world for completing the fasting month of Ramadan.
"I congratulate the Muslim Ummah of Ghana and, by extension, the entire Muslim population of the world for braving the throes of hunger and thirst for a month," he wrote on his Facebook wall Wednesday.
"In addition to the spiritual accomplishment of the month, you deserve to be commended for the strict code of discipline that you have adhered to throughout this period.
"I pray to Allah to accept our collective prayer, to continue to spread His grace, mercy and peace over our nation, and to make it great and strong," said the President.
President Akufo-Addo wished all Muslims a peaceful celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.
He called on Muslim youth to cautiously celebrate the period "by saying that" the nation needs you alive ".
