A kitchen company has announced plans to create up to 1,200 new jobs as part of an expansion of 120 million pounds.

Wren Kitchens plans to build a new plant at its Barton-upon-Humber headquarters in North Lincolnshire.

The company currently employs 1,500 people on the site, and another 1,000 people are in the vicinity of Hull, Howden and Scunthorpe.

Managing Director, Mark Pullan, said the new plant would be "the biggest single investment" in the company's history.

"The new plant is a testament to our commitment to manufacturing in the UK and particularly in the Humber region," said Pullan.

"We believe that continued reinvestment in our business is critical to maintaining our current growth rate, and subject to planning approval, the project will be funded internally."

The company, created in 2009, provides kitchens directly to the public via a chain of 78 exhibition halls.

He claims to be the UK 's largest kitchen supplier with sales exceeding £ 500 million last year.

Rob Waltham, the Conservative leader of the North Lincolnshire Council, called the plan a "tremendous vote of confidence for the company and North Lincolnshire".

"Through this initiative, more highly skilled jobs could be created in our region, and such large private investments often prove to be a catalyst for further additional investments in surrounding areas," he said. he declared.

The company has announced plans to submit a planning application for the new 910,000-square-foot (85,000-square-meter) plant in the near future.
