Tengen Dunor was arrested at the border between Ghana and Burkina Faso
Another Burkinabé was arrested in the Upper West region, while Ghana lifts its terrorist alert.
Tengen Dunor was arrested Wednesday in Hamille, a border town of Ghana and Burkina Faso, following a report.
The 30-year-old man was armed with a locally made gun and carried "several rounds of ammunition," said Joynews regional correspondent in the western West, Rafiq Salam.
The reporter realized that he had "illegally bought alcohol". The suspect is in custody in the regional capital, Wa, and is expected to be flown to Accra, the country's capital.
Dunor becomes the second Burkinabe to be arrested in the last four days after another armed man, Tibila Desire Biligo, was arrested in a Catholic church.
Catholic churches have been the most affected by terrorist attacks in recent years in Burkina Faso, a country where Christians make up about 40 percent of the population. At least 14 people, including a Catholic priest, were killed in three separate attacks last month.
The attacks were blamed on Islamist militants based in neighboring Mali.

The Ghanaian authorities are strengthening security at its border because of the country's development.
A security alert on May 9, obtained by Myjoyonline.com of the African Center for Security and Intelligence Studies (ACSIS), said a Salafi-jihadist group based in Burkina Faso could target Ghana.
According to the alert, the group has moved from Ghana through the border with Burkina Faso in the last four months.
Since then, a visible influx of security personnel has been observed along Ghana's borders. The military launched the "Fist-Fist" operation to bolster Ghana's response to potential threats.
Brigadier General Francis Ofori traveled to the area and maintains relations with the troops.
He also met with leaders of the Catholic Church where the first suspect was arrested.
Security forces urged Ghanaians to report suspicious activity in their vicinity.
