BEIJING, June 6 (Xinhua / GNA) – Chinese President Xi Jinping said on Tuesday that his country was
ready to join Russia to further progress in cooperation between
BRICS members and the development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization
(SCO).
Xi did the
Remarks during a joint interview with the Russian news agency TASS and Rossiyskaya
Gazeta newspaper on the eve of his state visit to Russia.
In the past
10 years, the BRICS countries have confirmed the spirit of openness of the BRICS,
inclusiveness and win-win cooperation, deepened cooperation in trade,
finances, politics, security and trade among peoples, and have become a
positive, stable and constructive force in international affairs, Xi said.
Russia is the
cradle of the meeting of BRICS leaders and the first meeting
summit of the Russian city of Yekaterinburg opened a historic chapter
BRICS cooperation, noted Xi.
"To come up
from different continents, the BRICS countries are brought together by a group of
aspiration to grow our economies, to offer a better life to our peoples and
play a greater role in regional and international affairs ", said the
Chinese President.

are facing both challenges and opportunities, Xi said.
He urged the five BRICS
countries to remain united in a spirit of equality and mutual badistance, and
deepen the BRICS strategic partnership to defend common interests and

Noting that China and Russia are
global strategic partners in coordination and important BRICS members,
Xi said the two countries had close communication and coordination
as part of the BRICS. Commenting on the cooperation of the SCO, Xi said that he
was a successful example of the commitment of China and Russia to forge
a new type of international relations and a good platform for such efforts.
"In the 18
years since the creation of SCO, China and Russia have maintained a close
coordination and collaboration. As a result, the organization has stopped growing
and has made an important contribution to peace, stability, development and prosperity
in our region, "he said.
Xi said that
China and Russia had joined the spirit of Shanghai, advancing the
SCO members, as well as strengthening the global dimension
profile of the SCO.
"China

and cooperation in various fields so that our organization continues to develop
to add more stability and positive energy to the world and make it unique
