Manchester United should give Swansea winger Daniel James his first signing of the summer, British media reported yesterday.
The 21-year-old underwent a medical examination in Carrington yesterday after Wales gave him permission to leave his training camp, the Daily Mail reported.
The first contract signed with Director Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to cost £ 17 million ($ 29.5 million), of which $ 15 million will be paid in advance and the rest to come, the Guardian reported.
The interest of United for James was manifested for the first time at the end of last season when the former Hull City Academy player impressed Solskjaer with his electric look and his skill. James, who scored five goals and 10 badists in 38 appearances with the Swans, also received a commendation from Wales manager Ryan Giggs.
But a move to United was delayed when his father, Kevan, died last month.
The winger was an outstanding performer for the Swansea Championship team last season under Graham Potter.
In March, James made his first competitive match for Wales against Slovakia and took this step with one goal in what was only his second appearance for his country.
