Vehicles delivered to CID headquarters
Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia handed Thursday 109 vehicles to the Ghana Police Service to meet their logistical and operational needs and to ensure effective policing.
They included 16 buses, five towing vehicles, four water tanks, 50 pick-ups, five ambulances, 10 Toyota Landcruisers V8 and 19 Toyota Landcruiser Troopers.
At a brief handover ceremony at the police headquarters in Accra, Vice President Bawumia said it was prudent to endow the police department with the logistics and equipment needed to maintain order and survive.
He added that since 2017, the government had provided 481 vehicles to the police department, while a statement of grievance was received regarding 109 additional vehicles expected to be delivered within the next three months.
Mr. Ambrose Dery, Minister of the Interior, said the government is committed to providing the police with the necessary logistical means and urged the police administration to use them effectively to maintain the police. Public order in the country.

Over the years, the police service has struggled to fulfill its constitutional mandate due to inadequate logistics and staffing, and it was felt that the additional vehicles would increase its operations and meet the expectations of the police. Ghanaians.
