Swansea quite simply states that the deal will probably be concluded at the opening of the slot for the international transfer of FIFA on 11 June.

James will be Ole Gunnar Solskjaer first signing as United manager, following in the footsteps of Nick Powell's former Football League and other such fixtures.

The club has already "designated" it for a specific positionand would have offered a five-year contract worth £ 67,000 a week.

Welsh manager Ryan Giggs, who gave James permission to undergo a medical examination while on an international badignment, feels like he is joining Old Trafford.

"I know United fans will follow him and enjoy watching him," he said.

"It's fantastic for everyone, I think – for Dan, for Manchester United and it's a good deal for Swansea as well.

"It's the biggest club in the world, so my message to him is to take up the challenge, not be someone else, and everything will be fine."
