18 years imprisoned for stealing church musical instruments | criminality

An unemployed eighteen-year-old Musa Danumah, also known as Soldier Boy, has been jailed for five years for stealing church musical instruments from the Ashaiman Circuit Court.

Mr. Gabriel Mate-Teye, president of the court, told the court that the accused was already serving a 12-year sentence for similar offenses.

The judge added that Musa Danumah was involved in a series of robbery attacks within the jurisdiction of the court and that he would serve all jail sentences simultaneously.

Continuing, Chief Inspector Yahara Salifu, of Ashaiman 's Divisional Police Command, told the court that in August 2017, the accused had illegally entered the city. International church auditorium King Jesus Chapel in Ashaiman and stole musical instruments and gadgets belonging to the church.

Inspector Salifu added that they included speakers worth 2,000.00 GHS, a stabilizer worth 1,500 GHS, a value of 2,000, 00 GHS and a mixer with a value of 1500 GHS, the total being greater than 7000.00 GHS.

The prosecutor further explained that a roundup had taken place at the Ashaiman Fitter line after an official complaint had been filed by the Church.

According to the prosecutor, the accused was arrested with some of the instruments at his hiding place and was subsequently brought to court.

He pleaded guilty to theft charge in violation of section 124 (1) of the Criminal Offenses Act.
