PHOENIX (FOX 10) – June is the month of Alzheimer's disease awareness. Two Hollywood directors go to cities in the country "My Alzheimer road trip"project.

They film hundreds of people with family members with Alzheimer's disease and tell them how they manage the disease.

Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania will use the video to help find a cure for Alzheimer's disease.

One of the people involved in the project is a familiar face: Rick D & # 39; Amico. The former presenter of FOX 10 recently posted a blog about his wife Ruth's Alzheimer's disease. She was diagnosed in January 2016 and Rick retired in August of the same year to dedicate herself to her family and to care full time for his wife.

VIDEO: We caught up with Rick during FOX 10 Arizona Morning while he was at Banner Alzheimer Institute in downtown Phoenix.
