After triumphing in the semifinal on Wednesday, Cristiano Ronaldo wants even more in the final of the League of Nations on Sunday with the Netherlands.

The 34-year-old Juventus striker told UEFA.com that his team wanted to add another major trophy to his cabinet after his Ronaldo-inspired triumph at UEFA EURO 2016.

UEFA.com: What does it mean to find the national team and score goals for Portugal?

Cristiano Ronaldo: Well, for me, it's always an honor to be back on the national team. It's my country and wearing this shirt is a great honor. Obviously, being part of this competition is even more special, and scoring goals is the icing on the cake.

How do you make sure you are always at your best and at the same time challenge your age?

It's preparation – my work ethic. I still feel good despite my 34 years. The most important thing is your head, to feel motivated and happy, and to follow my path as a player, because I think I still have a lot to give and I feel very good.

The final against the Netherlands is approaching: what do you think of the opposition?

The Netherlands are an excellent team. They played very well. I have watched them in the last few games and they have an excellent team with great players – young players and more experienced players, which makes their team even stronger. We know that they will be a pretty tough opponent, but I think for Portugal and the Netherlands, it's just what the finals are.

This will be your third big international final after the decisions of UEFA EURO 2004 and UEFA EURO 2016: how do you feel?

As I said, when I wear the jersey of the national team, it is a huge honor for me and a different feeling than the one we meet in clubs. It's our country: my family is Portuguese, my friends too. I grew up in Portugal, so it is special to wear the jersey of the national team. And of course, the possibility of fighting for trophies makes the thing even more special – as was the case in EURO 2004 and 2016, and how this competition will be now.

Three finals, as you said, and I hope to win two of three. It would be fantastic and I have hope, the team too. We are positive; we play at home. I hope that the stadium will be great, that there will be good energy, that this energy will be transmitted to us and that everyone can have confidence in ourselves, because we will try to do our best. Together, we can become champions.
