MineX 360 Services has developed an application that will allow parents and school authorities to easily check when students enter school and when they leave.

The application known as SmartSapp will inform tutors who drops their children in school and who supports them at the exact time.

This innovation was launched to cope with the rising rate of kidnappings, especially in schools.

Frank Natie, SmartSapp Team Leader or Smart School Application, said Thursday at the Holiday Inn launch in Accra that the product was aimed at keeping children safe, parents' convenience and promoting smarter schools.

He pointed out that the current system of recording and singing when parents drop off or pick up their ward from school is sometimes embarrbading.

Frank Natie added that the manual system takes a lot of time because parents will have to queue to authenticate their identity before choosing their wards at school.

He added that the application would eliminate these tedious processes with the introduction of a scanning device and a card authenticating the identity of tutors in seconds.

Schools that register for this application have access to the profiles of the designated guardians of the students, including their photographs.

The app also compiles the number of students present at the school each day, since parents can indicate if their children will be away on a given day.

SmartSapp is also connected to Banks and Mobile Money services to allow parents to pay various forms of fees defined by a school.

An option has also been created to help clbad teachers evaluate student behavior regularly for the benefit of parents.

Frank Natie announced that a pilot project had been completed and that a number of schools had already subscribed to the SmartSapp.
