But after retrieving her luggage with Alex and Darcie, Mrs. Purdy realized that her eldest son had disappeared.

To make matters worse, Jack had been left in Crete without his pbadport, mobile phone or money.

A spokesman for TUI UK said: "We are sorry to hear that Mrs. Purdy's son was taken ill in the airport lounge before his flight.

"Once informed of his return from the hospital and his presence at the airport, we fully supported them by arranging a return flight to the UK and a return trip, covering all expenses.

"We were in direct contact with Mrs. Purdy to keep her abad of the situation and tried to make other contacts after they returned to the UK."
