Ed Woodward would have delayed Manchester Fernando's decision for Bruno Fernandes despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's eagerness to sign the Sporting Lisbon star.

Fernandes, 24, is hot this summer and United faces competition from rivals Premier League, Tottenham and Liverpool.

United would be the first in the transfer race for Fernandes, but O Jogo claim that Woodward is "hesitant" to close the deal.

Woodward has a habit of wasting large sums of money for players who have failed to make the mark at Old Trafford and Fernandes would cost about £ 71 million.

United is showing "indecision" in the negotiations, despite calling for a meeting with Lisbon next week.

According to reports reported this week, Fernandes' agent had to travel to London this weekend to talk to his player's suitors.

Tottenham's interest in Fernandes comes as Londoners fear losing Christian Eriksen this summer.

The Danish international admitted that he wanted to leave this month and that it would attract Real Madrid's attention.

Solskjaer requires a great summer from United, but the club has been frustrated in his attempts to land.

Asking for awards from high-end British talent has left United struggling to pursue other goals, as the Reds cooled their interest in Aaron Wan-Bissaka and James Maddison.
