Tyson Foods recalls ready-to-eat chicken fritters due to possible contamination

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Tyson Foods, Inc. recalls more than 190,000 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken frit products.

According to a recall from the USDA, the company believes the frozen ready-to-eat product could be contaminated with foreign materials, including hard plastic.

The frozen food was produced on February 28th.

According to the recall, the food was sold in crates containing four 8.2 lb. bags of "fully cooked Whole Grain Chicken Breast Chicken Fritters" with cash code 0599NHL02.

These cases were shipped to institutional foodservice establishments nationally and in some schools, but were not packaged for retail sale.

The USDA said that there were no confirmed reports of adverse effects due to the consumption of this frozen food.

Food service establishments that have purchased this product are urged not to serve them and should discard the bags or return them to the place of purchase.
