Hohoe (V / R), June 09, GNA – Professor Eric
Nyarko-Sampson, Dean, Faculty of Education Foundation, College of Education
Studies at the University of Cape Coast have asked teachers to become familiar with
comply with national standards for teachers.
He said that the guidelines were developed as
professional tool to improve performance and charged teachers, especially fresh
graduates to make good use of the document.
Nyarko-Sampson said this to the 12
Congregation of St. Teresa's Education College (TERESCO) in Hohoe in
Volta Region.
He said that even if teachers were trained
professionals, they had to comply with standard guidelines to be effective,
competitive and high above par.
The occasion was on the theme: "A quality teacher
Education; The role of colleges of education in promoting the national teacher
Standards in the 21st century, teacher. "

Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Ho and the college boss said effective
Supervision was a mechanism that could ensure that after all entries
were provided and interventions made, the two main actors of the
teachers and students in the sector would be expected to do what was expected
the desired results.
Sophia Adjoa Micah, Director of St.
Teresa's College of Education stated that despite academic achievements, the College
had an inadequate teaching staff.
She called on the government to
financial authorization for the College to hire additional staff.
Ms. Micah congratulated the college student
Representative Council (RSC) for the acquisition of polyethylene tanks to address the shortage of water
challenges and help with the closing wall of the College.
She said frequent power outages were major
concerns about student safety and education disruption.
Ms. Micah called on the government to release
funds for the College to complete its premises, the closing of the College
wall, start the renovation work of the administrative block and the
Versatile auditorium of the college.
She expressed the gratitude of the management to
partners and sponsors who badisted students during their field experience
and mentoring programs.
Mr. John Peter Amewu, Minister of Energy
and Petroleum congratulated the graduates and asked them to serve themselves effectively
of the training they have acquired as students.
He badured that the work would begin soon
roads in the region as part of the many Sinohydro road projects
Framework project contract.
He promised to provide a generator to the
College to solve the challenge of power fluctuation.
A total of 383 graduates received
Certificates in Diploma in Basic Education with Mrs. Okah Deborah Mawutah
globally considered best graduate student.
