Mateo Kovacic says "yes" to advance Chelsea's imminent departure

Midfielder Mateo Kovacic of Chelsea would have already committed to travel to Inter this summer, with the parent club Real Madrid eager to sell.

The 25-year-old was loaned last season to Stamford Bridge, but Chelsea has no choice but to sign him definitively. They were told to continue negotiations with Real, although their imminent ban on imminent transfer threatened to block the move.

La Repubblica (via Calciomercato) said that Inter had already contacted Real to try to negotiate a transfer.

It is believed that the new boss Antonio Conte would like a loan agreement for Kovacic for a final transfer. No agreement has been reached yet, although both parties want to see the process succeed.

Chelsea has already been asked to sign a contract in Kovacic, either as part of the transfer of Eden Hazard to Santiago Bernabeu, or separately. However, as Hazard's move to Madrid is now over, Chelsea should make a regular transfer.

It is thought that if Chelsea acted quickly, their transfer ban would not restrict Kovacic's movement, as it would simply prevent the club from registering new players. Given that Kovacic is already registered as a Chelsea player as a result of his loan, the Blues may be able to close the transaction before the official expiration of his loan this summer.

Manager Maurizio Sarri said that he wanted Chelsea to sign at Kovacic, but even his future is pending. The manager is generally expected to leave Stamford Bridge for Juventus and it remains to be seen whether the Blues will remain keen on Kovacic without Sarri.

Last season, Croatia made 51 appearances in all competitions, but his performances often left fans frustrated. He failed to score during his time with the Blues and often preferred to sit in the middle of the field rather than sneaking into the penalty area.

While Chelsea is criticized for his often-rival lack, many supporters feel that Kovacic should not be re-signed, and any new leader should prioritize the formation of a team consisting of Ruben Loftus-Cheek or Mason Mount, graduates of the academy.
