Uber Ghana has asked its customers to check the images and the car number of the drivers before boarding the vehicles.

Ms Kbadim stated that there was also an emergency button for drivers that allowed drivers to call a private third party security provider who could send emergency services, as well as security services, if necessary, directly from the application.

Users and drivers can also select up to five friends and family members as trusted contacts to whom they can request to share the details of the trip on the app.

"Safety is at the heart of everything we do at Uber and we are always working to provide a better experience for registered drivers-partners on the application.
