According to research findings, 49% of Ghanaians in the country's 275 constituencies indicated that they would vote for the incumbent MP if the elections were held today, while 42.6% responded negatively. and 7.9% are undecided.
After almost three years in office, only 95 members of Parliament would remain if elections were held today. Respondents noted that their incumbent MPs had gone from 90% to 10%.
They also based their judgment on the level of development of their various constituencies, the degree of reactivity of their deputy, the acts of corruption for which their deputy was quoted, the frequency of his visits among others.
The study further indicated that 42% of Ghanaians would like their MPs to question the 2020 election and about 46% rejected the idea of having their MP stand for re-election.
According to Dr. Owusu-Mensah, the survey was conducted by "66 staff members in 275 constituencies across the country. With 100 respondents each of the 275 constituencies aged 18 and over.
