Watch the WWDC interview with Craig Federighi and Greg Joswiak

Last week, John Gruber of Daring Fireball, Apple's blogger, met with Apple's senior executives, Craig Federighi (senior vice president of software engineering) and Greg Joswiak (vice president of global marketing). together. Nearly 2 hours of really exciting conversation, which we recommend.

• Joswiak said Steve Jobs had already read Apple's rumor blogs. Especially in the marketing department of Apple. In part, this has led to funny stories, but in general they are not so great.
• Federighi says that on the iPad, USB support, etc. had been delayed so long, because it was necessary to first solve several security problems. It must be absolutely certain that the user can not drag viruses, malware or damaged files onto his iPad, which can destroy them.
• Gruber asked jokingly how much the wheels would cost for the Mac Pro. The two men took the thing very easily and said they were ingenious wheels. We should also look forward to packing the new Mac Pro. We would not have seen anything like that.
• Federighi and Joswiak also criticized other PC makers, who were basically too quick and shy to tackle many products. This is also the reason why the Mac Pro with display has come only now.
• Smartphones were also competitors on smartphones, which would do much more harm than Apple.
• Incidentally, renaming iPadOS actually has a marketing background, according to Federighi. However, we must recognize that there are now many more options on an iPad than on an iPhone. You would not even call tvOS "iOS for TV" even though it's based on iOS.
• Federighi on the question of whether the new iPadOS gestures are too complicated: we would work there for years and we would also introduce the user at the beginning. In addition, there are powerful user gestures. Many could still do it at the old. This would be synonymous with macOS.
