Cesc Fabregas suggested that Maurizio Sarri's "obstinacy" had proved to be his downfall in Chelsea.
Sarri's exit at Chelsea should be confirmed this week as the Italian is on the verge of signing an agreement with Juventus.
He led Chelsea to the glory of the Europa League and finished third in the Premier League in his first season at Stamford Bridge.
But Sarri is about to leave and Fabregas has lifted the veil to play under him.
Fabregas joined Monaco in January after losing the rank order to Stamford Bridge.

"He is very superstitious, he is very stubborn in this way," said Fabregas.
"He's a manager who has his own ideas and he does not leave them much.
"He has an idea of how he wants to play and the football he really wants to play in. He does not move, no matter what you tell him, no matter what you advise him, no matter what you think, it will not change. never.
"But he did it the way he likes it, he has his own vision of football and in the end he knows where he is and we have to respect that."

Chelsea legend Frank Lampard could replace Sarri and Fabregas was impressed by his first season as Derby manager.
"I think he's done a really awesome job – it's his very first job – he's changed a lot of things," he added.
"I saw him in Russia with the BBC and he had a very difficult team, an older team filled with players at the end of their contracts.
"He completely renewed his team, recruited young players.
"He played a very aggressive style and attacked football – really for a first job, I think he's done really well."
