WWE Raw results, recap, grades: universal title match twist, new crowned champions

With the latest adventure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with last Friday's Super ShowDown, WWE Raw resumed operations Monday night in San Jose, California, under the name of Stomping Grounds – a stored remodeling map – an event that is getting ready in less than two weeks.

Raw has struggled in recent weeks with poor quality presentations, although the Monday episode made it possible to return to a pleasant track, at least for a week. Among the highlights of Raw, there was a hotly contested six-man match with potential US championship challengers, a hands-on championship and a little intrigue added to the upcoming U-20 World Title match. Stomping Grounds.

Let's take a look at everything that happened Monday in Raw.

Twist added to the return match of Seth Rollins-Baron Corbin

Universal champion Seth Rollins was about to kick off Raw this week. A steel chair inflicted damage on Money at the owner of the bank, Brock Lesnar, Super ShowDown. Baron Corbin was then ready to interrupt you and said that he would be the one who should care about Lesnar after he became the universal champion. Corbin revealed that he had met with WWE officials earlier on Monday, and that it had been decided in particular that a special guest referee chosen by Corbin would be the official of the revenge for the title Universal to Stomping Grounds.

While Rollins was mocking the idea that someone was on Corbin 's side in a special guest officiating role, Sami Zayn emerged, and he told Rollins that his league title was toxic for him given his obsession for Lesnar. Zayn said that with Corbin as champion, we could finally have someone who is not completely obsessed with Lesnar. Rollins threatened to slap the taste of Zayn's mouth while Kevin Owens retired. Owens said he too had Corbin's back. Rollins concluded by telling Owens that he would take it in hand for the show's main event before moving past the trio of heels to go to the back. Behind the scenes later in the night, Shane McMahon named Zayn "outside referee" so that he could call things right in the center at Zayn's request.

Lensar was not present Monday, but Paul Heyman was present. Lesnar's lawyer did a promo in the ring where he called Rollins to be a thug and an undeserved champion for beating Super ShowDown. Heyman said that they would not reveal the moment when Money in the Bank cashing would take place before lesnar would be teased not only to be in San Jose to cash in but also to serve as a special referee for the match for the universal title Stomping Grounds.

Kevin Owens def. Seth Rollins via disqualification: Zayn was naturally a nuisance and claimed the QD after Rollins accidentally hit him with a suicide dive. Rollins attacked Zayn after the decision, and Corbin escaped to try and even luck, but he was fumbled by the champion. Rollins then turned his attention to Zayn, beating him with the chair and finishing him with the Stomp while Corbin watched him from the top of the ramp.

The special drama of the referees invited was necessary for this rematch against Rollins-Corbin, because, frankly, no one believes that the former Acting Director General can defeat the universal champion by his alone. Depending on the identity of this leader, this adds up to the drama needed to make this rematch compatible with Stomping Grounds. And of course, remember that the most dangerous threat of WWE continues to circulate with this briefcase and now refuses to give us the courtesy of knowing when it intends to take advantage of Money in the Bank keeps you – and Rollins, from elsewhere – on your toes much more.
