Rescue of Canadian girls: a group questions about the fate of being Ghanaian

We, the People Matter, a pressure and advocacy group, questioned the fate of Ghana and congratulated Canada's High Commissioner to Ghana, Heather Cameron, for the speed with which the two Canadian girls were saved.

The group posed this question in a letter signed by the leader, Dr. Sa-ad Iddrisu, to the Canadian High Commissioner congratulating her for her efforts to rescue the two Canadian girls who were kidnapped.

According to the group, it seems more than being Canadian is more powerful than being Ghanaian.

"As I write this letter, do you know our three daughters from Takoradi, in the western region, who were also kidnapped several months ago before your citizens were kidnapped, still missing?"

It is the fate of Ghanaian citizens that your Excellency has emphasized.

Dear Excellency,

It was great news to hear from experts from Canada coming to rescue your citizens who were kidnapped a few weeks ago.

Today, it's even more exciting to hear from the experts in Ghana that you have successfully saved your citizens.

It is a sign of great leadership on your part and on behalf of all your Canadian government.

Your Excellency, as I write this letter, do you know our three Takoradi daughters who were kidnapped several months before your citizens were kidnapped, are still not found? It's the destiny of being a Ghanaian citizen, your excellence.

For this reason, Your Excellency, can the Canadian Embbady in Accra help the poor mbades of Ghana and grant Canadian citizenship to all Ghanaians?

Please, Your Excellency, consider this a plea in favor of the needy Ghanaian citizens whose government does not care about their safety.

This seems to be a Canadian citizen in Ghana is more powerful than being a Ghanaian citizen in our own homeland.

Your Excellency, however, does not include politicians and their families / friends when you grant Canadian citizenship to us ordinary Ghanaians.

I say that because if the girls kidnapped by Takoradi were family members of any NDC or NPP politician, the Ghana police would have found them very quickly.

I conclude this letter as a sad Ghanaian and wait for your quick answer because I know you have a listening ear.
