Members of the Patriots of Awutu lobby asked Awutu Senya West MP, George Andah, to step down to allow them to choose a candidate to transform the lives of local residents. constituency.

This follows a recent survey conducted by the Department of Political Science of the University of Ghana, which revealed that if elections were held today, about 49.5% of Ghanaians will vote against their MPs in because of their poor results.

The survey also revealed that 42.6% of respondents are willing to retain their MPs, 7.9% of them being undecided about the choice of the person to vote.

Regional level

In two regions, 50% or more would vote for incumbents: Volta (56.4%) and Oti (50.0%), the report says.
"In nine other countries, 40% or more would vote for incumbents: Savanna (48.7%), Ashanti (45.7%), Bono East (45.7%), Ahafo (45.5%), Northern ( 45.3%), Western North (45.2%). % West), Upper West (42.7%), East (41.7%) and Central (40.7%).

In the remaining five regions, at least 30% of the votes would be cast by the incumbents: Occidental (38.5%), Bono (35.7%), Upper East (35.3%), Greater Accra (34.5%). ) and North East (32.9%).

In four regions, more than 10% were undecided: Northwestern (16.0%), Northeast (14.1%), Upper East (10.2%) and Savanna (10.0%). " he added.

In a statement issued Thursday, June 13, 2019 and signed by the group's president, Mr. Eric Darko, the Patriots said that after reading the investigation report, the members "felt sad", although that they "are not surprised at the result."

The group said it was disappointed that Mr Andah got 12% and stated that this "literally means that the electorate of Awutu Senya West does not want to see his face on the ballot coming out. in 2020 ".

The group therefore suggested that Mr. Andah "leave his MP position to allow us to choose a new MP who will strive to change the fate of the Awutu Senya West electorate".

According to the group, "the survey reaffirms the complaints of the electorate of Awutu Senya West, who said that the performance of our MP was catastrophic and that they were eager to change it in 2020. So it will be very honorable for the Hon. George Nenyi Andah has to give his place to a replacement for a year and a half so that we can see some developments in our riding. "

The statement adds that Mr. Andah not only "failed, but dishonored Awutu Senya West because he just told the world that we made the wrong choice and that we promise that this mistake will not happen again in 2020 ".

The Patriots also said that they needed Mr Andah's "apologies" for "their failure and shame in the world."
