First Lady calls for greater integration of alternative medicine into the health system

Accra, June 13, GNA – The First Lady, Madam
Rebecca Naa Okaikor Akufo-Addo called for greater integration of
alternative and conventional medicine in the health system to improve
effectiveness of medical treatments for all people.

She said that there was also the need to create
an accessible health care system, using conventional, homeopathic and well
search for safe alternatives in the near future.

Speaking during the commissioning of the new
Nature's Cure Center, a division of the Impact Diagnostic Center in Accra, Ms.
Akufo-Addo said that alternative medicine has a lot to offer the country
continued to bring great benefits to communities.

"What we have to do is try to
contribute and share the best of what alternative medicine has to offer as
alternative and complementary system, and we strive to continue to integrate
conventional and alternative medicine, for the ultimate benefit of all, "she said.

Ms. Akufo-Addo said while alternative
medicinal treatments like homeopathy that was popular in the twentieth century

a wave of interest, more and more people using alternative medicine

She expressed optimism that with the
creation of the Directorate of Traditional and Alternative Medicine in
Ministry of Health that provided guidance and guidance for practice
In Ghana, more Ghanaians would feel comfortable using homeopathy and conventional medicine
drugs.

"Already, health facilities like LEKMA,
The police hospital, Komfo Anokye and La Polyclinic are conducting pilot projects,
incorporate alternative medicine into conventional medicine, "said the First Lady
declared.

She congratulated the management
Nature's Cure Center for setting up the venue and their determination to
build confidence in homeopathy as an alternative medicine, thanks to
responsible and professional practice.

She said that this movement was in line with
the government's goal of providing comprehensive and secure health services

Ms. Aku Sika Bediako, Executive Director of the group
Head of Impact Medical and Diagnostics Center, Dashen opticians and Nature's
Cure, said the center had many homeopathic specialists who
have been trained to administer homeopathy as an alternative medicine to

She urged the public to feel free
to attend the services for a better well-being.
