Tokyo (AFP) – Takefusa Kubo, the sensational teenager, is about to be surprised by the Spanish giant Real Madrid, the Japanese media reported Friday.

The FC Tokyo striker, who recently made his debut in Japan and is nicknamed the "Japanese Messi", has also been linked to Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and English champions Manchester City.

Contacted by AFP, FC Tokyo has declined to comment, but the likely destination of Kubo now seems to be Madrid, where he will start at the Real Madrid, according to a lot of information.

Kubo, 18, received his well-known nickname after being invited to the Barcelona Youth Academy at the age of nine.

Barcelona has kept in touch with the player ever since, but Real Madrid now seems to be the favorite to sign Kubo, whose dribbling skills made him a hit on YouTube when he was little.

Los Blancos have offered Kubo two million euros a year to play in the second Real chain, Castilla, in order to gain experience, according to Japanese media.

The fierce rival Barca tried to sign Kubo in 2014, but was hit by a FIFA transfer ban for violating the rules on signing minor players.

Kubo came into play during Japan's 2-0 win over El Salvador last week against El Salvador and was included in the Blue Samurai team for the Copa America, which will kick off on Friday.
