Mom begs each parent to watch a 20-second video that saved her little girl's life

It's about home video that every parent has to watch – because it saved the life of a mom's little girl.

Jade Rodford, 30, said doctors thought her daughter Ella, 5, caught a cold when she became ill.

But, feeling that something was wrong, Jade recorded a clip of her 20-second-old daughter showing to dubious doctors that she had all the signs of a deadly sepsis.

The mother of two from Gravesend, Kent, said: "The video saved her life 100% .I had the instinct that something was wrong.

"Without this video, I had just arrived at the hospital with a normal child with a high temperature.

"But the video shows the full extent of what was happening and how bad it was.

"If I did not take the video, they would have sent me home and Ella would not be there."

Sepsis is a fatal disease in which the immune system produces an overactive and toxic reaction to an infection.

Jade said that Ella had been sick for several days before starting to deteriorate.

She said, "Ella had some colds one after the other, she had been sick for a while.

"I took her to the general practitioner who said that she seemed to be fine.

"I left it at my mother's house.

"After five minutes, my mother called me and told me that you had to go home." Ella can not breathe and has become blue.

"Fortunately, I was nearby, but when I got home, she was awful.

"His temperature was really high."

Despite her whereabouts in the hospital, Jade said Ella only appeared to show the symptoms of the disease when she was at home.

Jade decided to take a quick snippet of her little girl showing her skin turning purple and potty.

She said, "Ella did not look normal, something was not right.

"I left her a little time and I called the 111 in the afternoon and I said that she did not seem to be going at all.

The operator said that she did not justify an ambulance, but said to take her to A & E.

"I had the impression of wasting their time.

"I took her to the doctor and the doctor said that she had had epileptic seizures."

But Jade said the doctors had quickly changed tactics by showing them his video of Ella.

Jade said: "I took a video and said," Can I show you that? "A doctor watched the video with three of his colleagues.

"As soon as they saw that the nurses decided to take it.

"The video shows her shallow breathing and her purple, red and white skin and cowhide."

Ella was quickly taken to a treatment room and diagnosed with sepsis a few hours later in November 2014.

The brave young woman was drugged intravenously and spent 12 days in the hospital where she was seriously ill.

Jade said: "She was fine, she gradually regained her strength but it was very scary."

She added, "I'm posting the video now because I've found it recently and I thought" every parent should see that ".

"Everyone needs to know what to look for, I knew something was wrong with my daughter, but I did not know what – I hope something positive could come from a horrible event that could have happened to my daughter.

"If I did not shoot this video, there's no way Ella is here."
