MAURIZIO SARRI reached breaking point when Chelsea fans chanted "Sarri out" and "f *** Sarri-ball" in the March victory over Cardiff.

The 60-year-old Italian is getting closer to returning to his home country, Juventus, after only one season in London.

SunSport understands that there were several reasons for his escape, but the barracks that emerged from the stands in the Welsh capital were the touchstone.

Fans on the road clearly expressed their feelings after seeing their team fall behind by a strike by Victor Camarasa – intensifying their anti-Sarri protests.

Chelsea needed a stroke of luck to get back into the game as Cesar Azpilicueta scored from an offside position before Ruben Loftus-Cheek scored a winning goal.

The win put Chelsea in the top four, with Sarri also winning his first major trophy as manager of humble rival Arsenal in the Europa League final.

But the damage was already done, the leader under fire trying to convince the fans, the locker room and receiving little support from club leaders.

Chelsea refuses to let Sarri go for anything after paying Napoli to secure his services last summer as part of the deal that brought Jorginho to Stamford Bridge.

But the clubs are about to agree on a £ 7 million compensation program that will allow fan favorite Frank Lampard to take his place in the Blues dugout.
