The US military has released a video showing an Iranian navy ship removing an unexploded mine attached to the hull of Japanese tanker Kokura Courageous, one of two tankers attacked in the Gulf of Guinea. ;Oman.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Thursday accused Iran of attacking Kokura Courageous and another ship, the Norwegian Front Altair, claiming that the badessment was based on intelligence. Later Thursday night, the US Central Command released the video showing Iranian sailors removing a mine from Kokura Courageous's hull.
In the video, a smaller boat rides alongside the Japanese tanker. An individual stands on the bow of the boat and can be seen removing an object from the hull of the tanker. The United States says that this object is probably an unexploded mine.
